Terracotta Clay

Terracotta clay, firing between 950°C to 1150°C without vitrifying, is best used for decorative, sculptural, and low-fire pottery applications. It remains porous and slightly soft after firing, making it great for garden pots, outdoor ornaments, and artistic pieces that do not require water-tightness or high durability. This clay is ideal for beginners and craftspeople who want warm earthy tones and work well at lower kiln temperatures. You can use it for projects where absorption and breathability are desired, but it’s not suited for functional ware like dishes or water vessels that need to hold liquids without leaking.
