The KCS artist-in-residence program allows artists to work in a rich technical and cultural environment, under a tropical climate, with close access to the famous Angkorian temples.
    About the studio
    Studio facilities
Accommodation The traditional Khmer ceramics and all the carvings from the Angkorian temples provide unlimited sources of inspiration, enough to influence artists all along their life.

The residencies program provides artists with a space to experiment new ideas and explore new directions by applying different constructions and firing techniques. Artists are encouraged to exploit all our facilities.

The residency should open up new possibilities and directions for contemporary ceramic artists. The program is open to all artists who wish to work independently on their own projects. Artists may use the residency to accomplish a specific project or to work in a creative and supportive environment alongside other international ceramic artists.

Artists are strongly encouraged to perform an exhibition at end of residency. We can propose prestigious place following their schedules: National Museum of Phnom Penh, National Museum of Siem Reap, FCC, Hotel de la Paix, Alliance Française …

Resident artists can exchange ideas and experiences through presentations and informal discussions. Free from the pressures and distractions of everyday life, artists are more focused and more creative during the residency.

The KCS in Siem Reap, Angkor, should act as a centre of international cultural exchange. We want to allow artists from different backgrounds to collaborate with each others and with local potters. This program is managed on a not-for-profit basis by the National Center for Khmer Ceramics Revival (NCKCR).. Participants are expected to cover the costs of accommodation and/or studio, and we provide all the needed support to make your time here fruitful and enjoyable. Excellent facilities, equipment and studio spaces are available.

Meals can be the responsibility of the artists, or arranged by the KCS for a reasonable price.
